Non-geographically defined nations in free-market competition.

Or: "How to bring globalization to the next level - the death of the Nation States - the birth of TEMPELHOF Nations"

Summary: Non-geographically defined countries: TEMPELHOF Nations, competing against each other on an open, commercial market, in the same way as social networking websites or insurance companies operate currently. This will permit a fully individual choice of governance, to a much greater extent than democracy does. Demand and supply will regulate the market and increase the quality of the Nations. Anyone can start a Nation the same way as anyone can start a company today.

Diverse movements around the world are growing simultaneously, feeding-off each other and shaping the future; we still have classic liberalism and capitalism but there is now: globalization; micro nations; multinational corporations; global threats including terrorism and global warming, and internet. In order to make this development as sustainable as possible we must adapt our structures. The nation state, built on geographical boundaries, is no longer adequate, and is doomed to fail.

Globalization is an extraordinary phenomenon. With a globalized economy, communications to match and the glorious diversity of the worlds' cultures and lifestyles on display, the whole world as well as the individual has much to gain. However some people feel as though they, and perhaps genuinely, are losers from globalization. This feeling is not reserved to the stereotypically alienated usually mentioned, such as Islamic fundamentalists, fearful that their atavistic vision will be destroyed, or nationalist and autarkic activists of the left or right or more prosaically, factory workers who have seen their 'their jobs' moving overseas. No, there is a broader feeling of fear, insecurity, frustration or confusion, that many people in the world experience in some way, no matter their real personal gains or losses from globalization. Governments, tied to current notions of state polity and structures, are now part of the problem: they promise much but are unable to deliver realistic solutions according to the current state of society; the result is further alienation and disenchantment, an abandonment of the political process and a turn, in some cases, to extremism and nihilism.

Therefore, it is crucial to introduce a new paradigm to global politics today, The TEMPELHOF Ideology, in order for a transformation to a fully globalized world to take place in a smooth way. TEMPELHOF Nations will provide what people believe they have lost; a place for themselves in a small community, a 'national identity', and the power to choose their own lifestyle through choosing their own political/ ideological/ cultural/ religious governance.

My aim is to avoid ideology in favor of pragmatism. I cannot enough stress the fact that this is not a philosophical or moral work or statement; this is an attempt to design a realistic political structure for the world.

This is an interactive ideology; my wish is for it to grow through the exchange of ideas of whoever is interested in participating. All suggestions, ideas, improvements are welcomed. I attach a few pages of notes to expand my ideas and get everyone able to add to, comment on or criticize the ideology.
